Looks like Obama is going to walk it.

Just listened to mcain,s concession speech. Found it extraordinarily dignified and gracious, not the sort of speech we are likely to hear from opposing sides in westminster.

Yes..for the best in my opinion.....Democrats also have control of The House of Represenstives and The senate.
Obama will have a honeymoon period and then the reality of the situation will hit home.
Let us all see what happens next. :y :y :y :y

Of course...we will all sadly miss the towering intellect of George "Dubya" Bush. ::) ::) ::) :y

actually it was a close run thing.
If you look at the percentage of vote rather than Electoral College it was 52% to Obama and 46% to McCain. But because Obama won the bigger states (California) he had a big lead in Electoral College votes, 349 to 162

i stayed up til 6am watching it live - I couldn't sleep until I knew Obama had been elected :y :y

He didn't have to cheat like Dubya did though.

I'm so glad Obama has won. This is cause for celebration throughout the world.
It is historical that the line has now been crossed, and anything can be achieved by anyone. :y

Remember the last US president that promised a lot of change......and that included pulling out of a war that the US couldn't win...i believe he was shot......
I really hope it doesn't happen, but i wonder what odd the bookies would give me?
