Title: New OOF
Post by: testuser1 on 09 November 2008, 15:11:05
We are now running on a new revision of the software, which hopefully will bring a slight perfromance improvement, along with a few new goodies.

Obviously, we expect a few issues that were not picked up in testing to crop up, so please report these in the Forum Problems section.

Thanks for your patience earlier today.

Check out the "Get Notification" at the head of the thread which allow you to monitor a thread wihtout adding a post. "Send to a friend" the "Mark Unread" and the "Add to Favourites" buttons.

Oh and the "Check this if you wish to add this topic to your favourites" each time you post too. (Favourites is spelled the American way though. ::) )

That's all that I can spot straight away anyway.

EDIT: Just spotted that oversized pitures are resized too. The resizing sotware is a bit clumsy and causes a bit of rough edges, but keeps pictures that are wider than the normal posts within the frame.

EDIT2: And the addition of "Check this if you want the message auto-copied to your clipboard before Post or Preview." when you're posting too.

That is a really cool addition

Was the expandable "Live Preview" always there when posting? Is that me just looking more closely and it is the 1st time I've noticed something that has always been there? That is cool.

The posting delay seems much shorter.

....Or is that my postcount and I have only just noticed?

It is - no longer 30 sec delay - wait till "wait" turns to "post" and go :)

When I right click & back on a 'new' topic, when I get back back to the board's menu it shows it as still being new, even though I've just read it. It wasn't like that before.  ::)

Only took 2 minutes in PhotoShop. The additional "U" came from the "Mark unread" graphic. I just extended the graphic and slotted the other bit in the gap.

Lemon squeezy and well worth it in the name of protecting the mother tongue in the face of the constant software onslaught from which it suffers.

Found another problem

When you go to first unread it is OK then suddenly does a top of page - then you have to scroll back down again to where you were :(

Just got top of page - then had to drag down - rather than sit on my new post

Yes we know about that.  Should actually be resolved as from about 5mins ago, as we have put in a temp workaround.

The avatars aren't resizing at the moment. Some of them are nearly a whole page long. They are being cropped by the width avaialble, but they are full size and therefore length.

eek! the avatar images are not resizing all right - I just tried to read Marks DTM Calib post on replacing a V6 crank sensor, and half the post was blanked out by his effing huge avatar....  :(

Yes, had to turn off image resizing until we can resolve the issue with page refreshing.

Now is a very good time to obey the forum rules and set your avatar to right size ;)

I did it! I did it!

I must confess that I had no idea my avatar was so big until this happened....  :o

It will also please those on mobile or limited bandwidth connections, as your image has dropped from 45kb to 3kb :y
