Driving home tonight and some idiot hit the back corner of the car.
So, pulled up and he buggered off.
I follow, layby coming up on the left so I am flashing my lights and indicating to pull in....he continues.
Get down to a round about, get a couple of pics of the back of his car

N494 NBC Astra Merit in rainbow....think hes a decorator judging by he kit in the car...although could be a plasterer
Get in front of the guy and we stop at traffic lights so I get out.
Tell him I want his insurance details and he says he will pull over.....try to take a picture of him but hes avoiding it:

He drives off so I went to our local friendly Police who I have to say were excellent!
Fortunately not much damage done.....but it did nearly spin the car!

Hope it gets sorted mate. Well done for your pics :y
-
Bugger, sorry to see that. >:(
That seems to be typical today, It's not much damage but its still a pain in the arse and will cost you time and money to get fixed.
........Even the stag left the scene of my accident, you can't trust anyone! ;D
-
how did you get that information from dvla ?
Doug

It makes you mad Mark, there's just no need. Could you smell that he'd been drinking?
It would just serve him right to loose his licence >:( >:( >:( >:(
-
It is great that you managed to catch up with him and obtain the details you did! :y :y
He is low life, who is thick as well! If he had swapped details with you and agreed to pay cash for the damage he would be ok, but he didn't and now he has the law on his back big time!! No insurance, no tax, no insurance no doubt, so soon no car and no stopping after an accident, plus other worse things! If not a first time offender, which I doubt looking at the "offender" he is in trouble. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y :y

As you can see, he was not having any of it so could not smell.....plus he was driving with his window open.
-
According to the MID N494 NBC is insured, so contact your insurance co. and claim off his ass!!!!! >:(

Just to reiterate sentiments passed on earlier....
BASTARD
ASKMID at least reports he is insured.

He has tax, it runs out end of this month.....
I felt like smacking three bells out of him!
But thought no, hit him in the pocket......get the authorities involved!

If you need any help with owt, like a lift back from spray shop just let me know, i'm not too far from you as you know. You helped me out that time & if you need a favour :y :y
-
Had it happen to me about 3 years ago in my old polo I used for work.
he scarpered and hid up in Asda car park, but I found him. He begged me not to go through insurance as he had history and wouldnt get insured again. so insurance claim for car and whiplash for me and the mrs. kerching. If he hadnt done a runner I probably would have done a little cash deal for the car, so hopefully he learnt a lesson.
-
Marks DTM ,
I'm glad not much happened to your car and you catch him..
But be warned there are tw*ts who keep guns with them or in their
cars..Piccies and calling the police on the run and giving the
coordinates is adequate I think.. But NEVER go down from your car..
Your life is is not comparable with a few quid..
-
what a scumbag
-
Sorry to hear this has happened Mark but well done on having the presence of mind to start taking pics......
As mentioned by another member above, let me know if i can help out in any way.
Cheers
Martyn

What a low-life scumbag. Glad you were able to get pics etc.

-
Wanted to stay within the law......
-
dent in my n/s wing is from two pi**heads having a fight on my drive. ran straight out of house and they both legged it. never found out who they were >:(
-
if you ever id this scumbag can we have a Meega meet at his place & offer him some advice, element of surprise would be good :y
-
You did well to keep your hands in your pockets mate, after a bump & a bit of a chase the red mist can rise. Wish i had your self restraint, you'll achieve more this way. :y
I think my banger racing days would've flooded back & a few years ago i'd have spun him out then gone for a "chat". Luckily age is calming me down & i would'nt do that now but i bet it crossed your mind for a second or two. ::)
-
Mark,
Well done on the self control. Must have been difficult not to just drag the tit out of his car and lamp him.
Keep us informed as to the Police enquiries.
It sounds like he clearly has something to hide...
-
Sorry to hear about that :'( ,you did very well not to knock the cr** out of him and do things the right way.
If i can be of any help just let me know
glad you are ok
-
Hope the police go to town on him. As u have pics of him driving the car (and without seat belt), it should be possible to get him on something.
-
sorry its happened Mark .What a piece of $hit scumbag I hope the cops caught up with him in time to breath test him
-

In a similar incident, about 12 months ago, my daughter and grandson (he's 16) were observing the speed limit, when a low life with blacked out windows came up behind her in a Fiesta. Started flashing his lights and sounding his horn.
She carried on, till she came to a small roundabout, he went the wrong way round the roundabout, shot in front of her, jammed on his brakes, and got out of the car wielding a jack handle.
My grandson, who had recorded all this on his mobile phone, jumped out, and started taking pictures of him wielding the jack handle.
He quickly got back into his car and drove off!
My daughter went straight to the police station, turns out he was a wanted criminal.

Makes me angry >:(
Must have been the evening for tossers. I was out with Mrs TheBoy last night, going up M40 to ABS meet, probably doing around 80 in a queue of traffic in outside lane, slowly but consistently overtaking middle lane lot.
I notice some idiot pull in to middle lane from outside lane about 4 or 5 cars back, and come racing up. I thought he was going to pull in behind me, as there wasn't a cars length between me and the car in middle lane, but oh no, he tries to pull in in front of me (I think the car behind me pulled up closer to me to prevent him), resulting in me having to take evasive action, including going towards central reservation, and over the rumble strips, and braking hard (knowing the guy behind was right up my tailpipe).
So I give the guy a toot and a wave, and the tosser tries brake testing me (at 80ish in outside lane) >:(. Then he slows and pulls into middle lane, so I carry on past, only for him to pull out behind, lights on full, so I shove the blind up. Which results in him following that close, I couldn't see his lights in any of the mirrors.
Anyway, my jnction comes, so a pull back in to middle, then inside lane, just getting off, and he comes up the inside, half on the hard shoulder, in front of me, and again brake testing me - and I mean a 80mph to standstill type, before zooming off. Thought about going after him to kick the crap out of the idiot, but I wanted to go the other way at top of sliproad.
The idiot was dangerous, and on a reasonable busy motorway. I just hope someday that someone kills him, rather than the other way round. Had he of done that to me 2 weeks ago before I changed the pads after melting the previous set, I would have driven his arse through his mouth.

Nights are more dangerous here as the traffic police are mostly non-existent..And all the cowboys are on the road..
But if I'm not lonely I dont play their game.. >:(

I would have driven his arse through his mouth.
Shouldn't laugh given the potential seriousness of both situations described, but the pungent phraseology keeps setting me off lol

Were those number plates as dodgy as they look in the pics?
As Lizzie said, didn't exactly look as if he was a first offender.. ;)
