Does anyone have suggestions for beefing up the sidelights? The rears are OK with 10W bulbs in but the fronts are pathetic.
Can't be blue though - I am 100% with TB on them.

Whats wrong with the sidelights?

They are supposed to make you visible to other road users when full headlights are not required.
As it is, all they make visiible is the inside of the headlight unit. :(

get some white leds :y

They are the same as virtually every other car out there :-/
I never use sidelights - if its dark enough for me to need lighting to be seen, then I like to do it properly ;D

Take your point, I wouldn't dream of riding a bike on sidelights.
Still, on a car that does everything else so well the sidelights are a poor effort and it bugs me. The Mondeo sidelights fitted to my Cougar were much more visible IMO.
Will look in to the white LED option. Thanks Mark :y

I have to agree with TB :o Should never drive on sidelights alone, why would you want to? See too many drivers using sidelights in the fog, why why why, only uses a tiny amount more fuel to put on fog or head lights............. :)

Sidelights are there to make your car visible when parked, IMHO. If light is required when driving I always use dipped beams.
Sidelight bulbs can blacken with age so a new set of bulbs migh help.

Usable for the 10 minutes between OK and need dip!

They are parking lights. When driving in dull or dark conditions, you should use dipped headlights.

tail lamps are 5 watt. As Kevin says, side lamps are ther for parking only for me. If I need lights & put main lights on.
It amazes me the number of people who drive with side lights at best in the pi$$ing rain or at dusk/dawn, they obviously assume that cos they can see, they can be seen. :-?

Has someone put in the lower wattage bulbs as fitted to dashboard lights ?
As a side note I bought very cheap blue side light bulbs and they have now turned a very nice shade of green that goes very well with the green paintwork on my car.
