Sykes Pickavant do a good one.
http://www.shacktools.com/sykespickavant-12-torque-wrench-330nm-p-5572.html?manufacturers_id=14&osCsid=ec4d48a89da5be4d9f03a6d91b48974c

I have a 600Nm one for work (not the same make) with a 3/4 drive. It has a 3/4 to 1/2 reducer rated at 500Nm. Expensive - but a whole load easier than pulling full torque on a cheaper wrench that is at full capacity...  You wouldn't want to carry it on a train though  ;D ;D ;D

As post above Pete. I woudn't want to pull more than 200 on one of those if my living depended on it. In fact, I do pull exactly 200 on one of those. Day in, day out.

Luckily, I work for a big company so if I injure myself I still get paid.

If I needed to do more than that, I would use the big one.

For wheel bearings, a fart and 2 grunts does the trick!

I think you'll find it's a fart & then another quarter turn!  ;)  :y  :y

.. or a precisely measured 15 stone applied a precisely measured distance along the breaker bar. ::)

Thats JamesV6CDX knackered then.  Perhaps if he, Maria, and hannah all get on it together it might be close ;D

He's just going to need a longer breaker bar. ;D Or a bigger beer gut. ::)

I take it the wheelbearing torque doesn't need to be that specific then, as long as it's effing tight? ::)

In seriousness, I would always use a new nut and, if you can't measure the torque accurately, torque it up to the maximum you can measure and add an extra "grunt" by feel.

The nut needs to be locked somehow, hence always needing a new one. Sometimes they are just locknuts, sometimes they need to be staked into a groove in the thread.

It's not specific in that it doesn't affect the bearing with a modern setup, but only in that a wheel falling off can ruin your day somewhat.

A bit of a rumble on tractor, audible above the engine ;D

What I lack is a big enough bar on the end of a 1/2" drive strong enough...
