Is it me who just feels that the minor injuries patients are not "cared for" and are just "part of the job" in the eyes of the staff?
I had an injury to my foot and the staff at the time refused to x-ray on the basis that i'd had an x-ray several months before, so i hobbled off unimpressed
this time when i returned after a minor accident last saturday (early hours) and they did x-ray due to the obvious appearance suggesting possible severe damage
however, this time, they came out after the x-rays and had a mess about with my foot and told me it wasnt broke, and sent me on my way saying "take some painkillers and keep your weight off it if you can"
I didnt get to see the xrays, but i'm wondering if i should be entitled to go back and ask to see them? its been almost 8 days and still looks to be no progress, i shall upload a photo shortly

Once again I feel this is the result of today's target driven mentality --- get the NUMBERS through .... sod the QUALITY >:(
On the x-ray front, if there is no obvious break I doubt you would be able to tell much from looking at the x-ray yourself.

i just suspect they fobbed me off because i can walk on it (that means nothing, i walked on my other foot when it really was broke!)
here's the pic from a few moments ago, and its almost 8 days old...

Sod the foot, have you got any pain in the leg, or red marks leading up the leg ::)

;D ;D ;D ;D
I think Worthing hospital is the worst... Took SWMBO in at the start of an anaphalictic attack and ended up waiting so long she went into full fit and serious life threatening condition. Then had to use our own Adrenalin because in the 55 minute wait they hadn't managed to find the key to the emergency drugs cabinet!
Then, to top things off they started eating Peanut M&M's the other side of the curtain after we had told them she was severely allergic to nuts! When the doctor came I made him get another one in who hadn't been eating nuts as there was a risk of transference!
They weren't amused and I had to keep my mouth shut over most of it for fear of getting arrested! :o :o

;D no James, its all just the foot!
at the same time i also whacked my other foot on the wardrobe and thought i'd broke the second toe, since that was also as badly bruised, but thats almost back to normal now!

That does not look normal so get get your rear around to the nearest out-of-hours surgery, if all else fails go back to the A&E dept. Don't leave it, get is sorted. people have had amputations for less.... Shocked, you should be. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

My brother took his 36yr old partner into A & E the day of the tsunami (2004?) Although she walked in ....... she died hours later!

Here is a pic of my feet when I had cellulitis in one.
I think I got it from swimming in a public pool with (very mild) athlete's foot.
Like James, this was nearly a life threatening emergency.
If your foot starts to look like this - go back to A&E.

How are you coping with work Danny. or are you off sick?
-
i've been off this week, but i'm going back in on monday to avoid having to get a sicknote just yet
i was off earlier this year with ligament damage and was off for 17 days, which got me a disciplinary stage 1 warning, so i'm up for stage 2 when i go back, which is the one thing i hate about my job that i fear disciplinary more than anything else!!

What! If you're ill, you're ill. Why should you be disciplined?

its to discourage those who take the p*** being off all the time, but even the genuine illnesses dont escape
when i place my bare foot on my manager's desk on monday i'll see what happens

Well i've been sent home today, i have a doctors appointment tomorrow and i hope to get back to work as soon as possible and i'll most likely be driving vans (so no tips over xmas :()
My boss told me my attendance was cause for concern as i had "the same injury in March" which is 'dangle berries' because it was ligament damage across the bottom of my foot and I couldn't walk on it back then, so how he's relating a "complete accident coincidentally on the same foot" as directly related i dont know!
I'll see what the doctor says, but i need a sicknote backdated to today
on top of it all i'm starting to feel really upset/depressed :'(

I haven't given the postman a christmas tip for years now. Not because I'm tight ::) but because we get a different one every couple of months.
Hope you get back to work soon Danny.
