Sure some of you have heard of/done this before but its new to me so I thought i would give it a go. :)
Firstly use your touch up pen and build up the paint so it sits proud of the stone chip,
Then get some 2000 wet and dry ( obviously after paint has dried!!! ) and rub the spot down till flat.
Out comes the trusty electric mop and some G3.
Polish the heck out of it ( I then used autoglym super resin polish) and VOILA.
Tried it on my bonnet today and am suprised how good it looks with stone chip 99% disappeared.
Forgot to take pics tho like a numpty :-[

interesting, gives me the confidence to have a go myself. Got a couple of rust spots bubbling up through a tiny stone chip. Makes me cringe to look at em. I gues remove the rust with a dremill and fill in with paint and proceed as above?

apparently according to my mate that works in a motor factors, the company that makes these touch up pots with the brushes are ceasing manufacture of them, im damn sure there must be 1000`s still about but thought id give it a mention, but anyhow i do it by spraying a little paint into the lid from an aerosol type, let the solvent dissapate a bit, then using the tip of a cotton bud dip it in the lid then dab it in the chip, then as stated with the polishing.

how long should the paint be left to dry before you get the wet and dry in it? and if you have to rub the paint back to get rid of some surface rust that might have appeared on a chip what is the grade paper / best way of doing this?

depends on the weather temperature..but to guarantee let 1-2 days period.. 2000 or 1500 grid sandpaper but be carefull not to open the paint..
