When I deleted my Firefox programme I seem to remember I went to 'Programmes', right clicked, got onto 'delete' and just did it!! ;D ;D ;)

Don't do anything yet though, wait until a real IT expert explains how!! ::) ::) :D ;)

Lizzie. Not pretending to be an expert..

Can you go
Start
Control Panel
Add or Remove Promgrams
See if Mozilla Firefox is in the list?
If so, click Remove

What you described are the instructions for removing the entry from the Start Menu, not the programme from the computer. There's quite a difference..

I use both Firefox and the Google Chrome. Both are good. Any flavour of IE is open to attack by those who don't like them and as such requires frequent upgrades from MS.

if I know that I would bel working in Microsoft ;D :y :y

(before they made an offer to me but rejected 8-)  stupid me)

seriously removing IE traces can damage your system as most of the components and some registry entries are used by other programs..

so try to live happily together, like I do ;D :y

Thanks for everyone's advice :y I did what welung666 said & i'm happy with it. The updates aren't a problem & so far i've never had any security issues with any IE, mainly because i keep my anti spy, Windows & virus software up to date ;)
