i have a 1997 Omega CDX v6 estate.
the head gasket has just gone, and dont have the time to fix it...
the car is 100% complete....
how much is it worth and the scrapyard has only offered me £50 for it
can anyone shed some light on this????
thanks.
mark.

You would probably make the most money by breaking it for spares, apart from that maybe £100 imo. :-/
Edit; are you sure the head gasket has gone ? it isnt very common on the v6,but a knackered oil cooler will give similar symptons i.e. lots of oil in the header tank.

depends on what extra toys its got cows hide etc scrap has hit rock bottom atm
worth something on eBay though sure its the h/g and not the oil cooler v6s rarely pop head gaskets
-
dont have the room to break it for spares, plus i have already broken 2 elites and cant get no more in the sheds.
would rather this went as a whole car.....
could do with the money to tax the girlfriends car you see....
-
...just sell it for spares if it's money your after!
or as previously stated they're only worth bout 100 pounds with failed hg :)

there is sludge on the oil cap and it has lost compression....
i have just done the rocker cover gaskets as he dropped his guts on the floor, and after starting it it just didnt run right..... and yes i dod try everything..... lol
pertty sure it is the HG, but i just would like it gone now.....
even for a ton.
no leather, just standard CDX
-
would even fill the car right up to the brim with spares from the shed for a ton... 8-)
seats, interiors, engine parts, loads and loads. :D
need the space as i am currently restoring a 1972 Vauxhall victor fe estate... :y
-
its a pity your so far away bud would have give a ton :( :(

Have a word with Mutant Cav or one of the other breakers on the forum. Would of thought £100.00 was a fair price spares or repair.

must be of some use to someone.
i think that my location in west sussex is a little far for most people.
