We'll be here.

I'm off to see my Nan in the morning and having dinner with Mum, Sister and Niece in the afternoon. Back home to give my cats their Xmas dinner about 7:00.

I shall be OOFing with a whiskey in my hand in the evening. No worries, we will keep you company.  :)

Out of over 30 years earning a crust I think my family and I only got 3 Christmas Days together where I was off completely.

If working, recon it was best being nightshift....  N/S Christmas Eve, home about 0700 on Chrimbo Day, have a brew and stay up for the kids pressie opening, bedtime around 10/11 then up for the full Chrimbo works brekkie and the Queens speech at 1500!

Catch a few (traditional) hours snooze in the afternoon/evening then out again nightshift to guard, watch and patrol like a good 'un!

Brill!   :y

Good grief - now that's harsh!

Would I be correct to assume you are/were one of our boys in blue?

Thought so (apols if it's common knowledge to 99% of the folk on here, but I am still quite new here  :y )
Only reason I asked is that a surprising amount of my friends wear blue suits to work  ;) and they've painted me a similar picture

I am working Christmas night and also night shift on new years eve.
the life of a lowly security gaurd,eh Bertie. ::) :'(
Still its a job ,which is more than a lot of folks have got at the moment.
Good side is,I finished work at 8a.m. yesterday  morning ,not back on duty until 5p.m. Thursday,so I am looking for a 2nd job (part time) to supplement the income, and keep the dream of an R1 for next summer alive. :)
