Has anyone bought it yet ? I have and I am having graphics problems with it, the minimum spec states Nvidia 7900 256mb graphics card, well I have Nvidia 7900 512mb graphics card and it is struggling.
The rest of the spec is Intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz, 2gb ram.
Thanks in advance.

I have it, I heard before buying that it was not coded very well and was bringing high end PC's to their knees but was pleasently suprised when it ran on my sytem well & pretty much maxed out.
My system is ok but not top end, Q6600 (Standard Clock ATM), 4gb RAM, 8800GTX.
Is your 7900 AGP? or PCI-Express?

Looks like there is some issues with 7900 chipset and GTA4, some interesting here and some tips to get it working -

Thanks for the reply Richard, it is a PCI Express card. My nephew said I should probably buy a 9600 card.
Thanks
Mike
P.S. glad it works ok for you.

Hehe, I wouldn't mind but I am not that bothered about it now as I had alreadly completed it months ago on the 360, just got it to have a play and see what it looked like on PC.
What budget you looking at if you were to upgrade? 9600 doesn't sound like a great choice to me but I haven't looked at reviews for this card yet.
I would advise looking into what Laz has found first and see if you can improve the performance but budget graphics I would go for the 9800GT 512mb, for less than £100 its a good deal.

Thanks Laz. Reading it now.

Budget is around the £100 mark, I have read a bit last nite on graphics card and found the 9800 cheap ones have lower clock speed than the 9600 ones around the £100 mark

He did have a part time job at PC World whilst he was at college, he now works for BT.
Please don't say to much about PC World, I gave him a real bad time about it when he started there. In his defence he his a good lad, never been in any trouble and my brother and his wife have done a very good job with him.

I have a 7900GT and I must say, it struggles with games a lot older than GTA IV! I am not surprised - it is a very old card in technology terms now!
I have GTA IV and it's pretty much as you described - except I have a worse CPU (Athlon X2 5600).

works fine on my xbox ;D
For the cost of it £129 or £169 with a hard drive, its a no brainer.
I found keeping a PC up to date was getting very expensive, xbox now costs less than a graphics card, and there is no fuss getting games to work.
Yet the graphics are still amazing.

As a PC gamer I wish I could disagree, but its getting increasingly difficult to do so, much of game development is starting to focus on consoles (much easier for them), with only few killer games coming out for PC only. (Only Spore springs to mind and that was like what I am imagine going out with Jorden would be like, fun to play with for a while but ultimatly vapid and shallow with no real point to it)
First Person Shooters and Real Time Strategy are still best played with keyboard and mouse IMHO, but overall I am starting to be won over by the plug and play simplicity of 360.

I have to agree aswell unfortunately. My only problem is I hate the controllers that come with xbox ps wii. For some reason I really can't get on with them. Whereas as I do very well using mouse and keyboard, allthough COD 4 and the next one are even doing there utmost to stop me doing that, as the numeric keypads don't want to work in cod4 etc. you can assign the keys but they won't actually work during play.

P.S. muat be because I am left handed.
