Well got a few other bits today (for £30 in total)
2 x Headlights complete with HID's (1 headlight is damaged though where it bolts to the slam panel...)
2 x Front Fog Lights
Horn
TM Switch which goes on the headlight switch body!
tbh, I'm mainly made up that I got the TM switch, as I've been after one which goes there for a while now, as that will do for the boot release switch when the central locking ECU is somewhat adapted by Mark :)
Fogs, needed drivers side, but got both as want to try convert them to HID
And want to dismantle these headlights (somehow) to look at blacking out the chrome surrounds, and also see about doing this Audi HID mod which was mentioned the other day...
So yeah... anyone any pointers on how to get the projector unit out of the headlight and/or get the glass lens off? :-?::)

Don't know about cooking it ;) but the knife worked OK for me. Gently prise it apart as you go round. :y

Well got the damaged one apart to play with :) I'm guessing the fabled weakspot, the Adjuster, is this bit??

As a bit has snapped off it and is still on the spindle inside...

So just guessing, bit of araldite & a nut to sort it?? Or is there another solution to this...
Also, whats the best way to remove the rest of the glue on the lens & body? Leave it to soak in something like white spirits? I want to polish up the lens so its like new (there are some scratches on the outside), so they should buff out with a bit of wet...
Also, wondering what type of bi-xenon solenoid setup will bolt onto the inside of the lamp... From looking online, they seem to be a universal fit in regards to bolt patter, but I guess time will tell on that one...
