Title: Energy suppliers. Con artists or what?
Post by: GuzziHero on 11 December 2008, 21:58:32
So Im on British Gas with ClickEnergy 5 paperless dual fuel.

Now I understand the principle.  You build up credit in the summer, expend it during the winter.

But here's the situation:

Before May, there were 3 people living here.  Dad, mum and me.  Thats TVs on all day even when I was at work, plenty of gas cooking, warming plates in the gas oven etc etc.

After the tragedies of late April/early May, it became just me living here.  I carried on paying the same rates as we had with 3 residents:  £51 gas, £76 electric per month.

Now I hardly ever cook with gas cos I use a convection oven, and when Im at work theres no heating on.  I built up £308 electric credit and £256 gas credit.

So they put my gas up to £69 per month, and drop my electric to £51?  What the hell?

Stuff em, I said.  Just switched to nPower.  British Gas are some crazy melonfarmers!

That's you giving them an interest free loan of £500 for 5 months. They screw you if they can. I am renovating a property; its been empty for several years and no gas has been used. They still send estimated bills of £75 each time.
