Ok,
I had a thread posted a couple of days ago to get a anti virus installed. Kind people suggested AVG and Skybot. Unable to download these as my computer for some reasons wont even acknowledge the link. Also my wife is trying to book some flights but is also unable to connect to the booking page and only gets as far as the Home page. Also no simely faces at the bottom of this forum or when i go to the gallery unable to see any photos. Now my knowledge of computers is really poor and i may be over looking something simple but what the hell has gone wrong,do i have to take it in and get it repaired or am i just being a real idiot and overlooking something simple.Any help would be appreciated but please keep it really simple for a novice
Cheers, would put a smiley face but none available.

Is your internet connection running ok? Sounds like it maybe in slow mode to me :-/
Mine is taking about 10-20 secs to show 'smilies' at the mo.....but my connection is being hamered at the moment....(PC upstairs is doing quite a bit downloading atm ;) )
Try turning off/on your router as a start.....mine sometimes goes into slow mode for no apparent reason and restart sorts it out :y

sounds like an infection on your PC.

May be you have a virus which is preventing you from accessing anti virus web sites. I am just down the road from you in Wimborne, send me a PM if you like, and I can let you have my contact details, I am a system builder and maybe I can take a look at the system for you.
Richard.

It hasn't worked for ages now so could be an infection. When i had McAfee it was so slow and also wouldn't let me upgrade even thou my subscription was still valid
Cheers

Gut reaction is machine already compromised.
As an aside, our images server is not running as fast as I would like, but isn't exactly running slow either at the moment...

Hi Kieran,
What Antivirus are you using at the moment and is it up to date?
If your internet is running a bit slow try using www.getfullspeed.com worked for me :y, as long as you can download it that is :(.
HTH,
Pete :).
