Wow. That's not good news.
Only Citroen and Ford left for next years championship.

Does that mean the end of boy racers who fancy themselves in their Subaru's and sometimes end up in take-away shop fronts? ::) ::) ::) ::)
Will they go on to some other "in" vehicle that remains "cool"? :-? 8-) ::)
-
That means no WRX versions ha ha ha ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Sad news indeed. Apparently today is the deadline to register for next season so I wonder what the standing will be tomorrow. :(

The passing of an age..
Just like no more Escorts in rallying was the passing of another age.
Don't knock em Lizzy. I had a WRX for 2 years. It was the most enjoyable and competent car to drive that I have had - by a long way. And the MV6 is quick (and competent), but not even close to it for 'making progress' on country roads on a nice Sunday afternoon.

They pulled out before Subaru :(

I lost interest in rallying years ago when they banned the high powered stuff, cant remember the class, but inslused the lancia rally and intergrali, the 6R4 and the big quatros, some of the cars averaged 400bhp some even touched 600bhp at one point I think.

I lost interest after McCrae and Burns stopped

yep - McRae was a legend - and Richard Burns never really got the recognition he deserved for winning the WRC - before or since his untimely death :(

I have nothing against them really Bandit, but they always seem to be a little pretentious, with a lot of noise for a small ugly car, with usually, in my area anyway, so often a baseball caped wannabe racing driver youngster showing off in it acting in a bloody stupid manner in 30 mph zones. (Yes, I know we were all young once!! ;D ;D)
I can think of so many cars I'd sooner have, like a 1600E Cortina Mk2 :-* :-* :-* or Mk1 Escort 'Mexico' :-* :-* :-*, or a Carlton 3000GSi 8-) 8-) 8-)in the "old" car range, or a modern Mustang which has beauty, power, and real presence, but of course I know that is purely my opinion as a speedy mature woman, not a young boy racer! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)
I put on my tin hat now, thinking of leaving the room......... :D :D ;)

Apparently Mcrae was just about to return to Subaru before his untimely passing :(

Seems that I am still not cool, might be a C4 but it's a Picasso and my 16 year old says that is not cool ::) ::) ::) Then he started talking about the Peugeot 106 he thinks he wants next year ::) ::) ::) only 5 minutes since he got his Scooter..........where does the time go :( :( :(
