Title: LPG Tank query
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 21 December 2008, 18:53:45
Moving an LPG tank today, I think I must have put it down a little awkwardly, as there is now a small dent in the end of it, which wasn't there before.

Should I bin the tank? If it were internal there would be no question, but It's externally (chassis) mounted, and in reality, I'm wondering if it will cause a problem.

I'm also considering getting a third, larger tank for the boot, to accompany the twin torpedos. Anyone know a good supplier, for a 200litre bomb? ;D

Cheers
James

If the dent's well away from the valve mounting or any welded seam I'd say it'll be OK.

Maybe it'll "pop out" when you fill it up? :-X

Take some spare undies in case it does.

See if you can find someone to pressure test it to see.
Maybe try and have a word with Tylo.

don't suppose you know anyone with a pressure testing water tank? we had one at my last place for testing compressor castings until one blew at 60 bar and took out the rather windows ::) ::) ::)

seriously i'd get it tested if you can and it may 'pop' out like Kev says ;)
