Title: Insurance question
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 25 December 2008, 20:07:42
Hi guys,

A quick query re. Insurance if I may.

If someone holds a private policy, and has a number of no claims - and stops driving - how long can they "keep" those no claims, before having to start on the bottom rung again?

Cheers
James

If 12 months or 2 years is fine..and suits your needs then fine.....coz i dont really know how long.....but if you wanted longer than others suggest is the max.....nothing to stop you changing the insurance to 3rd party only....so its the cheapest it can be and carry on payng the insurance  ;)

As long as you are driving on someone elses insurance, and don't make a claim, that should keep your no claims up for at least 2 years, longer with some companies. :y

check with your company, some can be right b*stards,  my mum was with a company and only stopped driving for something like a week and her insurance company tried to refuse her no claims completely!

Thought you were getting something else James when you left us guesing that it was 1.8 metres High and asked if if would go into a standard garage.

Also on your NCD, if you do decide to go for a traders policy, then transfer it to that.

Hope you had a good Christmas.
