there is one way you can do this. Get a cheap wireless access point and a standard cross over cable. Link the access point up to the wireless router in the house and jobs done

What you actually need is a wireless bridge.

Back in the days of xbox 1 it was the only way to get on a wireless network. I used a Linksys and had no bother at all once it was setup.

Trouble is, they are no cheaper than the official 360 adapter, so not much help really.

personally i would just buy the 360 designed adapter, it clips on nicely to the back of the xbox, and gets excellent signal.

I thought it was a good price actually  :-/

50 quid, thats a rip off for what amounts to little more than a USB dongle

These are supposed to work:

Completely agreed, just grateful that I have a router within ethernet cable reach of my 360.

As a cheap solution why not just run an ethernet cable to his bedroom.

before you start drilling holes and running cable - I would seriously look at getting a wireless Hub - like BT Homehub or similar - no mess, no fuss, no holes, no wires - far better solution - and very easy to set up (i'm an idiot - luckily the console does all the work for you)  :y :y :y
