Title: Heads-up: big freeze on the way
Post by: Nickbat on 29 December 2008, 00:33:01
It seems like we are in for a prolonged spell of very cold weather. Here's a quote from the linked article:

"How bad could this winter sink? The weather maps are a chilling reminder of some our most savage winters, such as the notorious 1962-63 winter, the coldest for 180 years. This was when the sea froze around the coast of southeast England and crops were dug out of frozen ground with pneumatic drills and blizzards paralysed the nation."

Oh Dear, watch the film "The Day after Tomorrow".  Stuff that, if my plane doesn't take off tomorrow, I don't get paid.  :'( Hope the pilot has ski's handy.

Hmm... I will close my bedroom window vents then, but leave the turned radiator off!

All the electrical gadgets keep my room quite warm! :y

Same article, next paragraph:

Even if next month is freezing, the Met’s long-range forecast predicts that the winter will melt away into warmer conditions in February.
