That is good Richie to get your gas back so easily as it gets colder! :D :D

It is the kind of prank kids have done for years, but it still must make you bloody angry. >:( >:( >:(

As a kid we had no such thing as central heating......ice on the inside of the windows in the winter was common.

People today not used to hardship..........put another jumper on Richie. :y :y :y :y

Like wise.My kids thought I was making it up when I mention 'Jack Frost'  :y  :y with ice patterns on the inside.
The rented house my daughter shares with her mates near university has the heating paid as part of the rent. They have the temp set to 'tropical'. Consequently she's always cold when she comes back home to 'The Ice House' and wanders around in a T shirt.  ;)  ;)  ;)

Indeed, the patterns were wonderful; but going outside for the loo and getting splinters in your feet from uncarpeted floor boards as you walked across them was not funny!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;)

meter is half in ground half above, no key just a handle fixed on, and a plastic box surrounds it the kids use as seats, theve broke it off the bkts so they can move it about.

We had a similar prob, when i worked on a business park in Bristol......we had v. expensive main frames.....on test....we used to manufacture them....they needed a lot of cooling in the computer rooms....so the computer rooms had 5 or 6 air conditioners....running 24/7....the compressors/condensors were outside.....with the mains isolators next to them.....every now and then the local brats would come along during the night and turn the isolators off.....result was.....air temp in the computer rooms....rose rapidly....and basically the main frames cooked themselves....costing 10's of £1000 each time   :(
The isolators had holes in them that aligned when turned on/off.....that could allow a padlock to fitted to stop being turned off/on....but health and safety wouldnt allow them to be padlocked in the on position.....but did allow a thin cable tie to fitted loosely.....so they couldnt be turned off.....but gave enough slack.....that an adult if they tried hard enough could break the cable ties off.

Could something similar be done to your gas valves??  :-/

We must have been lucky cos we had a rug in the middle of the floor and a small oil lamp in the loo to keep it above freezing..........  :y

Oh and rings around our legs, just below the knee where your cold wet wellies slapped your legs as you wore your shorts out in the snow...... ::) ::) ::)

It's true folk do expect tropical heat all year round now. Many friends houses are too hot for me this time of year, you walk in & can't breathe. I grew up in a 400 yr old cottage with sash windows. We had an open fire downstairs, storage heaters, & a fan heater we moved from room to room as needed, used to drag my clothes into bed in the morning to warm them up!!! Today i have the joys of double glazing & central heating but i switch it off before bed, can't sleep in a heated bedroom & i have my bedroom windows open 24/7 365. :y
