I've been trying to connect my Laptop (old Tosh Satellite) to a TV (this one (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5293386/Trail/searchtext%3EGREAT+DEALS+ON+LCD+TVS.htm)).
The laptop has S-Video and VGA outputs. Using an S-Video cable and an adaptor to composite/RCA video input on the TV gives a fuzzy picture and only 50hz. I've tried changing all the settings, and only managed to get a correct fit with no picture improvement.
Doing a bit of research, it seems this is to be expected of S-Video?
Would a program like Powerstrip be able to improve this any further (e.g. sharper picture and 60hz?)
Or is using VGA the way to go? (As I understand difficult to do, and requiring something like this (http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/cables/VGA-to-HDMI-Converter.html) - which at that price I don't want to risk without being certain)
Your help is, as always, very much appreciated :)

I never found a way before I got my new PC with HDMI output on it. Picture looked aweful and text was pretty much unreadable :(
