Title: February 2009 cambelt party
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 31 December 2008, 22:06:07
Come on then - when and where is the next one. We always seem to have something in this crap, cold weather...  ;D

If there are plans - then I'm happy to attend and change as many cambelts as I can in the day. I don't charge at these events. *

* Although I Do expect people to pull me out of the gutter when I've had a skinful, and not take photo's of me in compromising situations ;D )

80k interval on mine.

It's 10k and 2 years overdue though - I won't be driving it far, until I can find the energy and thermals to roll up my sleves and changte it..  :y  ;D

Mine reckons 20k oil changes.

What crap, I will be changing it every 3k, like every car I've owned.

Although - it's a 10 40 spec, so chances are I'll use the VX magic stuff in it, on TC ;D

That will require cam covers coming off too, along with the inlet, and a few other bits.

Achievable easily, but probably enough work for one day.

Are you sure fititng 3.0 cams is worthwhile to the 2.6?

Mrs TB and I were discussing it the other day...

Any volunteers for hosting it, ideally somewhere central, and somewhere dry!

Might wait and see how Mike Dundees goes but Geoff recommended them.

Also mine does go well for a 2.6, but would like to get 200bhp from it

I'm up for a trip down, but I guess most people would find the 3000 mile round trip a tad far...

I could do with doing mine along with the cam cover gaskets. Does it need to be inside? I might be able to sort somehwhere if it doesn't need to be covered :y

I'm up for providing assistance - having done my 2.6 I'm quite confident...

Would need access to a cam locking kit though as I hired mine. Got all the other tools though.

oh - and provided it isn't bleeding miles away!

If you guys get stuck for a location i can always ask if the works car park is ok to use.

Its not covered but it is private and fairly well sheltered....capacity wise would hold 100 plus and  50 would be comfortable.

Offers there if nothing else is available.

Location is on outskirts of Cambridge.
