Title: courtney panel filter vs piperx induction kit
Post by: tyreburner on 04 January 2007, 13:56:41
Hi and may i wish you all a happy easter.... ::)

just wondering what do you think will be better as have taken the piperx from my mrs car as she didnt like the noise  or heat soak and low and behold i found a courtney panel in my maggie.  8-) i presume you can buy the filters seperate and my car hasnt had a mass of courtney money spent on it???.... would be nice if it had .

i put the piperx on and did ecu reset and mpg seems quite decent but cant gauge it properly as have an intermittent lambda sensor fault and i have read it will mess my consumption up.

am gonna try the courtney back in as although i love the sound of the piperx i do 30 mile each way to work  so i want as much economy as i can..... (never gonna happen in a 3.0 with an empty a69 but i can lie to myself  :P)

just wondering which you peeps prefer ( if any one has tried induction kit/ panel filter)
Mick

To be honest, given the size of the stock filter, neither will add any performance improvements, they will onyl change the intake note

Lambda sesnor has been posted by the way.........

Yep, I had a K&N panel filter in mine & didn't notice any difference & now have an induction kit which sounds great (in my opinion) but no power gains that I can tell.

If anyone wants to send me a panel filter and a standard new filter, i would be more than happy to prove that the panel things does nothing at al apart from aiding the engine to get sand blasted when it breathes.
Word of advice, stick to the standard. ;)
