Title: BT Home Hub and setting up a wireless network
Post by: Essex_Andy on 07 January 2007, 18:22:55
OK at the moment I have a netgear DG834GT adsl modem router and a netgear wireless game console adaptor on my Xbox 360 and all is fine.

However I have had a gut full of Tiscali and gone for the BT package.
They advertise a free Microsoft Xbox360 wireless adaptor when you sign up which I have asked for.

Now what I want to know is what is the best wireless network card to fit to my pc (XP home edition) that will offer best wireless performance with the BT Hub?
(The netgear DG834GT router/adsl modem connects by normal ethernet cable to my pc and needs to be plugged into a phone line for broadband access).

I like the idea of having the BT Hub tucked away in the lounge with the telephone and no wires running here there and everywhere connecting to my PC.

Thanks.

I will add, with linksys, I've found the blue/black stuff to be better than the silver stuff...

My blue/black popped its clogs after a few years......54g croaked....so bought a silver one.....that worked for 2 weeks then popped its clogs too....tho not decided about power surges causing it...was at the time getting a lot of storms/lightening....got another silver one....exchanged....still working ok  :y

Worth sticking the IT stuff on a surge suppressor
