what do you think ,,, im stumped
-
Heard this on the radio today.. I think they are stumped too :o
-
I had a look at the paper this morning!
Seems strange the actual Blade is missing, could be somthing and yes i do belive there is somthing out there.
However alot of people get over exited about stuff now and spoil things.
It is intresting all the same though. :)
-
the m.o.d said there not interested but i bet there having an investigation of there own on the quiet. probably say it was a seagulls wing caught it flying over ;D
-
Definately a UFO. A flying object that is, as of yet, unidentified. ::)
-
The little green men landed, thought the turbine was an inhabitant of earth. When they tried to communicate and got peed off because the ignorant earthling wouldn't reply, they blew it's arm off in anger :D
-
Where I work, we have tested sections of some turbine blades and they are not weak little things, if as the bbc reported a light aircraft hit it, the aircraft would def have crashed.
I would guess the missing blade broke due to some defect and hit the damaged blade.
Would actually love it to be aliens, but I doubt it.

I saw an excellent cartoon long ago. A flying saucer had landed and one of the occupants was chatting away to a petrol pump. His mate was saying to him "It's no good talking to him, he cant hear you, he's got his dick in his ear" ;D
-
WHY DOES THE 71 YEAR OLD WITNESS LOOK LIKE THE ALIEN IN THE PIC TO THE RIGHT??? Are they one and the same???
Thats spooky. :o
-
I'd say it was almost certainly ball lightning. The witnesses talking about "octopus" tentacles would indicate an electrical grounding, the same as you get in a plasma ball. The reason it "went" for the turbine was the the same as any lightning bolt, i.e. it was attracted by the metal..
Ball lightning is very rare and its causes are not understood well. However, if you do a Google search you will find some astonishing accounts e.g. http://www.hsv.com/weather/unusual/
No green men, I fear.
-
It possible the military know exactly what caused it!!! ::) ::) ::) ;)
..............and their equipment was responsible! :D ;)
-
I dont dis-believe but don't 100% believe either, but that picture to be honest the image looks like the sun shining through a cloud if you ask me. As said that could've been lightning too.

Something to do with 'balls', that's for sure. ;D

Well, in a sad moment I watched Space 1999 and UFO yesterday, remember them from the late 70's?
So I feel it must have been a UFO... ;D ;D ;D

God, doesn't it look dated and pathetic now.

The pikeys have had it away for scrap ;)

Yes, and as a teenager I loved them, noticed a Mk 1 Cortina in Space 1999 ::) and all those 60's modern office blocks that get used, I love to see how they felt the future, inc cars, would look back then ;D ;D ;D
-
Looked at the "Have Your Say" section and found that someone else has already put it down to ball lightning.
Unless I'm mistaken, lightning does NOT show up on radar.

Was it UFO that had the submarine crewed by women in string vests ??

Taken away for tests.... ::)

Yep ......just a few miles from where we live......all over the local news.
Lincolnshire is RAF county......so....well your guess is as good as mine. :y :y

I would imagine it may have disintegrated. A neighbour of mine, who recently sadly died, once experienced ball lightning while camping in Wales. He said there were several balls which exploded on the ground like mortars (he was ex-army). :o
-
be honest, what the break would anyone want to come to earth for??
unless they stop off here to refuel ;D ;D

might have come for some sausages, on the way to cumberland ::) ;D ;D

I've seen the after effects of a lightning strike to a glider made out of composite materials and it's fair to say it is capable of that sort of destruction.
Oh, and a technician from the farm they interviewed on the radio today confirmed that the blade was indeed missing, but not for long. They found it lying in the grass under the turbine so I doubt it has been abducted by aliens.
I wouldn't mind betting that if one blade was damaged, the rest of the destruction happened purely because the thing was totally out of balance.

dogging probably ;)

Hmm, with all the technology the little green men have to travel across the cosmos and they can't even avoid a whopping great propeller when coming in to land??
::)

Exactly ! Most think of U.F.O as some kind of alien space craft. It could be a steak 'n' kidney pie, hurled with some velocity. If it is un-identified then it is an U.F.O
-
They must be around, We cant be the only ones really can we?.

I dont think human kind as a very lonely creature in the universe is a clever thought.. ;D

Why is it that "aliens" only appear in front of people of (ahem!) a 'certain' social group?.........`coming halfway across the galaxy to scare the willies out of a few slack-jawed hillbillies ;D

a bit contrary but there are many official reports from Turkish war plane pilots.. :o
also add British and US pilots too..

You are right Cem, which seems to give credence to something going on. :)
Police officers have also reported some very detailed incidents involving UFO's, and as I personally have seen at least one I do rather keep an open mind. Although as I suggested in my earlier post on this thread, it is possible that the military are responsible for these events themselves, with the testing or operational running of highly advanced new craft, that we the public never know about until some time later. ::) ::) ::) It is possible that we have learnt lessons from crashed UFO's (where from, who knows!) and are using that technology in Earth built craft. ;) ;)
As for the wind turbine "hit", I do rather like the suggestion made by Nickbat earlier that this could have been caused by ball / bolt lightening, the latter being more likely as ball lightening has been know for centuries by seafarers, hovering around their masts, doing no damage whatsoever. However I cannot see any evidence of scorch marks on the remaining structure which I would expect. :-? :-?
-
I certainly believe that there is life "out there"........but I do not believe that "Aliens" have ever visited us.........yet.
Apparently the most commonly sighted UFO......is Venus.
In the future ......many new civilisations may well be discovered....or they discover us....... :y :y :y

The only thing is Optimist is that the "Big Bang" and the start of the Universe creation was 13.7 billion years ago with atomic matter spreading out from a central position ever since. It is just possible that an Earth like civilization was created many billions of years ago, so just imagine how advanced on us they would be on us who have been around a mere 3.5 million years or so from the time of the species Homo or Homo Sapiens of about 250,000 years ago as many consider to be the start of the race of man to be? :-? :-?
Pure speculation, without any evidence, yes, but still a possibility we should not ignore. ;)

Yes Cem, I was indeed, and it happened one bright, sunny afternoon when visibility was perfect. :o 8-) 8-)
