Sounds very tasty ;) nice and smooth but with power to boot, and plenty space ;)
One thing, find out its service history. If the Cam belt AND tensioners haven't been replaced in the last 40K miles, its worth getting it done. Cause if the tensioner fails, the belt slips and the valves hit the pistons, Ouch!!! However there is plenty of advice about replacing these bits (even a DVD!) and the parts are quite cheap from various sources. Enjoy the car :y :y :y

The 2.6 is a good comprimise. Not as grunty as a 3.0 but cheaper to insure (very important) and no slower up to 60, very smooth as well

The automatic transmission ECU upgrade is really worth doing:

If your g/box ecu is flashable (seems to be minifacelift onwards) there is a newer firmware for it that improves the changes (smoother) and (perceived?) power transfer through it

I originally intended to start my post about this with 'TheBoy stole my gerabox. I'm sure I had one when I went to see him, I felt it kicking in and out of gears as usual all the way there, but now - nothing. Silence. Clever guy, don't know how he managed to take the gearbox off my car while I wasn't looking.'  :o

I didn't do it because I thought someone might take it seriously...  ;D but the firmware upgarde is that good. Really.  :y

Cheers for the reply :y my gearbox is really smooth as it is and to the best of my knowledge the  ecu hasn't been reprogrammed, what do you mean by perceived power? I've got my thick head on at the moment [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]
