Title: 2.2 cant be flashed for codes... Why?
Post by: feeutfo on 12 January 2009, 04:04:33
dont get it, did GM just forget to include it? Or was it omitted deliberately to bump up the service dept income? Do other later models in the vauxhall range have a pedal trick or paper clip test of their own? Or was it just around for the omega vectra era? Whats the story with this feature in GM history, anyone know? If later cars have it, then whats the method with these? And are they likely to apply to the 2.2? Or is there a logical reason why the 2.2 is not flashable... Does logic even come into it?

just seen Andy B's missfire thread, so the Astra has  the pedal trick, or at least that model Astra does.

Our old 2.2 didtn work with a generic code reader either.

Very strange.

It Worked fine with the cheapo tech2, or real tech2

Guess a lot of it is down to the core ecu that is used.  Bosch probably keep the functionality in theirs, hence possible on later motronics...  ...Siemens probably dropped it, hence not on 2.2?

yeah see, Siemens def gay!

Wonder why 2.2 would get a different ecu?  Why would bosch not be suitable?

All omega 4pot petrols have used Siemens, early ones paperclippable.
