Well we`ve been told by the consultant that my mum has 3 types of cancer she has a tumor in her spine near the base that they are gonna treat with steroids and radiotherapy and that they`ve found cancer in her liver as well and to top it all they`ve found a benign tumor in her chest thats been caused by the breast cancer from 5 yrs ago.....The consultant has told us that the cancer in her liver can only be treated with chemo and that none of the cancers are curative they can only prolong her life and that has hit me hard today i`ve not cried yet and i just dont seem able too not even when i told my dad he had a few mins with her in private in the ward...The news has hit me like a truck espec the way the consultant told us like he was telling me that my car had failed its MOT and what it needed doing to put it right...Ah well this is life i suppose :'( :'(

When my mum was diagnosed with Cancer her consultant didn't give us the full picture unlike yours, whist it is very difficult to take in knowing the full situation in some ways gives you strength when you need it.

Doubt your gonna want too hear this right now but id seriously consider if its worth having the treatment...cancer is a devastating disease and my dad bitterly regretted having major surgery too gain a few more months,he ended up dying in a lot of pain after suffering for months.
My nan had various treatments over several years and again she just sufferd those last few years and didnt have any real standard of life.
Hard as it is maybe accepting the situation and making the best of it might be worth considering.

My folks are getting on now. Dad keeps joking about when he "goes upstairs". Not much phases me but that does.
