Engine Excellent, Leather Interior Excellent

Heated Seats, Electric Mirrors, Electric Windows, Electric Sunroof, Onboard Computer all working

Aircon not working though (can't be bothered to fix it)

A small amount of rust on bottom of doors but arches not bad at all.

Ah. Well!

I may have paid £250 for it but then drove it 40 miles and have removed some rubbish from it. Therefore I now value it at £500

Just had a look, that is a very tidy looking one, rear arches look very good. Love the digi dash too, that would be purrrrfect for my trip  ;)

What are you long term plans for it, is this a project to fix up and sell on? - If so you might already have a buyer!  ;) :D

I always wanted one and now I have one. That is about the extent of my plans so far! I have no idea what I am going to do with it and don't know if I will keep it 2 weeks or 2 years.

I will let you know though, when are you off travelling?

Early July, however i get very busy in 2 months time. Due to other things as well Made In Brunel show and so on, i'd like to get the car this month or next.

Then run it as my 'main' car doing the runs back home and so on, just to iron out any niggles and get it running nicely. Few oil changes ect...

So if there was one going now, i'd buy it....

Omegatoy knows of one going cheap but unsure on a few details he is going to look into it for me.

I really like yours its got the digi dash and black leather!!  :) - There is a danger i will like it more than my Omega!  ::)

Tell you what.

If you don't get yourself sorted with one in the next couple of months, come back to me and we can negotiate a good price if I am willing to sell it or possibly I might let you borrow it if I decide not to sell.

That sounds like a plan!  :)

However my main purpose of getting another car rather than taking my Omega, is its going to get thrashed! The whole idea of me taking a cheap £300 ish Senator is if someone bashes their door into me or i have a slight scrape with something i am not going to mind.

If I was borrowing it, i'd have to be careful i would treat it well! - Tbh thats not something i want to do, as TheBoy will comment i don't drive fast and hard, i'd like something to chuck around and pi$$ off Saxo's with  ;)

Fair enough mate. Come back to me in a few months if you haven't found one and see how I am minded. I might be bored of it by then, I might have put it in a ditch, who knows.

All I need to do is the rust on the doors and the drivers mirror and a good polish and then it is sorted. It runs so much quieter than my MV6 and I reckon it is quicker

Quieter than your MV6? - Thats interesting yours is a facelift!

Bloody hell!! - I bet i like the senny more than my Omega especially since with a straight six 3.0 vs 2.2 4 pot

I mean the engine at tickover is quieter. I have got a small hole in my MV6 exhaust which makes it a bit noisier and is holding it back a bit. I thought the Senny had stalled at one set of lights cos I couldn't hear it. When I dabbed the pedal it was definatly still running. Nice.

Me 1, Corsa in next lane 0, Dad in his rover behind me gone. Had to pull in for him to catch up.

Also it is only opinion, I have yet to set a 0 - 60 time in the Senny so could be quite wrong, perhaps I am just smitten by it

I would imagine a Senator to be lighter than your MV6, so its quite possible its going to be faster!

Really sounds like fun to drive, I want one!  :'(

I felt sad about selling our Senator. Sure it had a few electrical niggles, but it was a hoot to drive and once chipped was damn quick!

Remember also, a straight 6 will be smoother than a V6, just a fact of life.

I am starting to want another one now!  :D

Nice car there mate, drool  :y I had a Mk1 senator many years ago and absolutely loved it  :) It was a great car to drive and quite quiet, or so I thought until I had a shot in a Mk2 which was even better (less wind noise) My favourite trick with the digi dash was switching the speedo display to KPH and making all my mates think it was super fast  ;D  ;D  ;D I keep hankering after a Monza, just love the shape...........

Cheers Jim

Made in Brunel - does that include some VERY dodgy steam locos before he realised he should stick to civil engineering & ship design ;D

LOL,

The "Made In Brunel' is a show in London in early June. Its a showcase of the best work from Brunel Univeristy in Design & Engineering its basically showing the best final year projects, if mine is good enough I get to go  :D

Nothing to do with the 'Made in Brunel' annual show.  Only link is the Brunel University gets its name from the famous engineer who designed some steam engine thingies, as did Churchward. Bit of a weak link though...

Got to do winds ups though haven't we?

So what are the connections between IKB and BU?

No idea. I attended lectures at Brunel. Short of sharing the name, and it being near the start point of Brunel's line through Bristol (and on to USA), I have no idea.

I guess I could Google it, but I really couldn't be arsed, far to busy with other things...

No idea why its called Brunel!! - However they are spending big bucks on campus loads of new buildings, apparently its one of the richest University's in the country.

How long ago did you visit Jaime? - The lecture centre was completely re-done with all rooms getting projects/ tvs/ dvds and so on, loads of new buildings here including an 7 million pound in door running track!!

Bloody problem is i hate exercise or gym stuff, i walk the dog and thats it. Not set foot inside the gym since my tour in 2002!!!

No direct llink at all if I remember correctly, it wasn't even called Brunel until fairly recently. I suspect it was simply a name chosen because it was a tech college.
