.............Broken lights on the road, the amount I see in a day with at least 1 brake light u/s os unbelievable.... many with none at all... does anyone ever check their lights.... we're somewhat spoilt with check systems....
It's the lamest excuse in the book for bobbies to pull people over, yet, I've seen the same car riding around with just a high leve brake light working for over 9 months.... ::) He's probably waiting for a rear end shunt for a whiplash claim :o

Last year I told a bloke at work he had various lights out .... even pointed out which they were. Months later they were still out! :-? >:( :y
-
I noticed Mrs TheBoy had a tail light out ::). That will get fixed at w/e, she won't be using it before then...

there is an old knackered astra that is parked up by my daughters school
all the headlight and indicator lenses on the front have been smashed and it still gets driven around
saw it once at night with its lights on

Mrs H21 was moaning that one headlamp was not working on her 56 plate 307. Gave the wing the Mk1 dunt with flat of hand - sorted!! ;D

Followed a Saab 1/2 way to work one night last week,no back lights at all!
I flashed him a couple of times but didnt want to push my luck,

About 1 in 10 I reckon - all of mine work
-
Sadly mine is one
O/S brake light out, as I had just jump started the car the last time I used, I nipped down to the local DIY spares and the guy was out side. Asked him for 2 bulbs, but he allways checks then for customers and then fits them for us. As he checked it he gave it a good clout and it came on.
Sadly it seems like the connection needs a clean as the fault came back.

We play the 'lights' game this time of year. One kid counts up fog lights in use when not required, one counts 'one-eyed monsters' and one counts cars with both. Had a 20 mile journey the other day where all three were up over the 50 mark.
-
I collect bulbs when I go to the scrap yards or from the breakers I have had so I keep the families cars well lit :)
-
we check ours on a monthly basis unless we are doing a long journy and we will then check them before we go anywhere.
always carry spare bulbs and fuses in the car just incase.
hubby had a break light out the other day on the miggy easy fix when youhave the bulbs to hand!

What constantly amazes me -apart from most peoples inability to drive in even the lightest of snowfalls-is how many vehicles you see driving in fog with NO lights on, let alone fog lamps on. THIS is where the traffic police should be more vigilant , on these other aspects of bad driving ,rather than their focus being mostly on speed.

Never had an indicator bulb blow. The yellow coating flakes off them long before that. >:(

my hubby hate people who cant be bothered to use their indicators.
lol the thing is if you indicator bulb goes the indicator bulb in the car on the dash will flash faster to indicate that the bulb has gone.
-
It really annoys me. If one of my bulbs goes, I know immediately - the car tells me. Most modern cars do tell you one way or another. I always fix the problem as soon as possible - always within 24 hours.
From the number of cars I see with one headlight, either headlight bulbs have an MTBF of 10 days, or I'm the only one who ever bothers to check my car.
-
Always had problems with my indicators.... ::)
They keep going off then coming back on.... ;D ;D
Rather pi55ed off with rear foglights today, they are useless unless the visibility is below 200yds.... ban 'em :-X
-
A lot of people carnt be bothered to replace blown bulbs....
The driver i was renting a merc out to.....had a blown headlight (and if he couldnt spot that, a warning would have been up on the dash!) for quite a few months....he only phoned me up to tell me when both bulbs had blown and he didnt have any headlights! ::)
He only had to bring it to me to have the bulb/s changed, i paid for them!!
And i saw him parked up the other week (a pug 807 now) with a blown headlight, i wonder how long it will be before the other bulb blows and he does summat about it ::)
-
Have often flashed people who have not one...but two broken brake light bulbs or faulty brake pedal switches and 9 out of ten of them wont stop.... mainly cause they have cut me up.
Rang a decorators number on his van once, told him he had no brake lights he was ever so grateful, till i let rip about the fact he had cut me up and if i hadnt braked he would have had more than broken brake lights he would have had a 40ft coach up his arris!

I agree :y
I was following several cars the other day on a dual carrageway that had rear fogs on.....it was slightly misty..we were all doing 70mph.....my thoughts were....'if were doing this speed safely.....theres certainly no need to have fog lights on' >:(
P.S. thats the clean version of what i was thinking ::) ;D ;D
-
We carry spare bulbs in both our cars. Can be fixed immediately ;)
-
Was behind a Audi A4 tonight 02 plate. Waited for him to go past before I pulled out, he had front fogs on, no fog!
Also his rear fogs were on when I got behind him and also his brake lights didn't work.
How long has he been driving like that, especially with no brake lights.

you get to see the odd caravan dweller driving about in dodgy cars, i have seen 1 driver no more than about 15 yrs old driving a range rover :o
-
Oh! and then there's the a55holes who drive at dawn with no lights on at all, they think that they can see that's all that matters....
BUT! WE CAN'T SEE THEM! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! >:(
rant over :)
