Read the small print.
Not Green Flag is my advice!
We had a flat battery at Birmingham airport and they would not attend without charging us call out as we did not have home start!
Thats at 2.00am, with a 1 year old and 3 year old child!

we used to use rac - bought with clubcard vouchers, worked out very cheap.
I get it as part of my bank account now

I use the AA. Got the full package. On the rare occasion I`ve used them can`t fault them, but as Mark says, "read the small print" :y

I have an AA home-relay company card. When my car got broken on a motorway, it took them 3h to take the car to the nearest CarPark. Then I had to wait another 4 hours for a lorry to take me home (in between AA sent a van to “fix” my car – big metal piece got out through the oil sump so I don’t think it’s repairable). Finally when lorry arrived I was told that the driver is about to finish his shift and there will be another lorry to take us home. Next one was the last one... Incident happened at 4pm and we got home 1 am (180 miles).
My wife was pregnant at that time. :(
Anyway – I dont blame them. I’d rather wait 8h for rescue than to pay £500 to take my car home and have even worse service.
I just have one question – let’s say that AA.RAC or any can fix my car on the road but it’s necessary to buy a part. Will I only pay for this part or for delivery (petrol) as well? What price level do they use?

I'm with the RAC, but have only used them two times in about 4years (two flat batteries), but they were swift and helpful on both occasions.

Service from breakdown companies varies from area to area... I used to work for the garage which is the preferred supplier for Green Flag in the Basingstoke area... Our roadside fix rate was about 89%, although mine was 94%, but any other company was horrendous... Many times I'd attend a job for the RAC and the people had been waiting 4+ hours, even on the motorway!! :o :o :o :o
Best advice is to speak to people in your area and find out who they use and their experiences.

That's just shocking... Only time we didn't attend flat batteries for this reason is if they were at home... Sounds like the garage were pulling a fast one! >:( >:( >:(

Mate of mine had that once. RAC call centre droid insisted it could be fixed at the roadside. >:(

Thats was the green flag emergency number operator!
I could not get past them.
Needless to say I canceled it when it was due for renewal.

We used to get them call us out for ridiculous things... Perhaps they have changed the way they work now :-/ :-/ :-/
