Football in the park could be banned over fears the "passion" in the games could lead to fights.

Hmmmm as a parent of two boys (13 and 15) who play in local teams. I can say we have never had an issue with younger one's team playing anywhere.
However, the older one's team have played a team where we as parents/spectators have been verbally threatened, the players have been verbally threatened and sworn at, they took pictures of our lads and posted them on the internet without consent with rude comments about individual players. All this abuse and photo taking came from the parents. Now forgive me but if I went to a local park and started taking phots of kids what would be thinking of me ?
For someone like me who hates football anyway, I can safely say "I don't need that".
At the end of the day all they are saying is we should not need to fear be abused by the other teams parents. Basically behave or don't play it is your choice, and I for one would support that.

This is yet more utter crap.
Football is already policed as the ref runs the game. He has it in his power to address both touchline and player issues which could ultimately result in the team/club being banned from palying the league/competition.
Its time the do-gooders in this society were shipped to the rather moon rather than pissing about with useless legislation which is detracting from the real probelms we all face!

I do agree the ref is in charge of players and spectators, however there have been many refs attacked. The team I mentioned in my post earlier has indeed collapsed/dissapeared from the league. So the local existing rules are adequate. However it did not help on the day in question.
It turned out this team had been causing problems all season and it took the entire to season to get rid of them, that is what is unacceptable. They should of been severly reprimanded after the first incident, hopefully any new rules would ban them from there next game and they would automatically lose the game. Something like that may improve there behaviour.

what do you expect, this prickk and his goverment are determined to run this country into the ground.they make you go 1 pace forward then shoot you back another 2 feet. seems he would do anything to infuriate the people of this country and see people suffer. when will it all stop, when this b'strd is thrown out of this office. i think we should have an english assembly, just like the scottish assembly and the welsh assembly, get a leader with some spine and stand up to the tossers who drag this country down.let the english decide what we want and whats best for us. >:( >:( >:(

i watched a programme a while back about football sunday leagues. said theres a real shortage of rofessional refs as people are too scared of being attacked. i have m8s who play in a league, there are fights all the time on pitch, most of them are fed up with it. some obviously love fighting and should be banned for life, simple answer really
