Saw this on ceefax earlier, very strange imo.probably a lot of behind the scenes politics involved but we will probably never know.
I vaguely remember a rumour from the end of the mclarengate scandal which said that he had agreed to retire in the near future, because if he hadnt agreed to it his enemies in the establishment were going to destroy the team.I seem to remember it was denied by all concerned at the time, but who knows? :-/
I also saw himinterviewd about a year ago,and he said that the treuth about all this will come out at some point in the future,so maybe he is going to start working on that.

In fairness, he isn't getting any younger, and he isn't short of a penny.  One of my brothers knows him pretty well, and knows he used to put in ridiculously long hours.  There comes a time when you should enjoy your success.

He was always totally commited though.Lived and breathed the team.
I think he had a sign in his office which said "winning isnt everything, its the only thing".He split up from his wife a year or so back, which might have had an effect I suppose.
Still would be surprised if he walked away just because he got bored or similar. :-/

I think that people like him in sport do it for the love of what they're doing, why work once you've got enough in the bank?

it's the love that drives him not the money - money is a means to the end
