Title: FSH, lucky me
Post by: chrisl_1960 on 16 January 2009, 21:44:02
bought my Miggy in November, W reg 2.2 CD, Paid just over £700 but with no history, the guy I bought it off had it a year, and done 3000 miles according to the MOT.

cleaning it today I found (in the spare wheel well) the fully stamped up, until last year, service booklet, cambelt changed 15000 miles ago.

result I think :) :)

still, full service and another cambelt to be safe is a good idea.  :y

If it makes you feel better, My Baby is a 96 2.5 cdx financially wouldnt get enough to buy the sunday times, but in my eyes its priceless. Ive had it since it was 2yrs old and it only has 61k on it, so will never get a better preface miggy.  ;)

TBH the guy had first advertised it at £1295, it got cheaper as the MOT is only til 29/01, I was looking for a while, and missed out on a couple, I'm pleased with it, and love driving it, wish I'd got one sooner.

I am missing having an estate car though, so if all goes well, a V6 est later this year

I should think that mine is worth less than half of what I have spent on it over the last year .... but that's not the point.  A Fiesta would have been down the scrapper long agao -- but will happily buy bits for the mig !!!!  BTW not all the bits were actually NEEDED -- but more WANTED  ::)

Feel the same about mine.! A 2.5 cdx with leather option. Got it a year ago for £1200 including new gaskets and cambelt change. You see them for £700-£800 now and Ive recently had to splash out on new oil cooler, battery and aux tension kit and belt but I LOVE this car. Only got 2 really small patches of rust on it that need sorting once weather a bit better and 124k on the clock now, but with luck and continued help from all you guys on the forum aim to keep this one for as long as I can,

I couldn't agree more with these comments, the car is never going to set the world on fire financially, but all of a sudden I enjoy driving again, the way things are at the moment, I'll only change mine for another Miggy.  :) :) :y
