Instead of increasing ones's "score" purely by the the number of posts, why not increase on the number of replies received. If someone's topic gets lots of replies it shows his/her topic is *thought provoking* and hence worthy of a lot more aclaim than those who just answer for the sake of it. Mine own topics as examples........

Replies to your own posts could be deducted....anything can be arranged....... ::)

With the current software base, a ranking system (different to postcount though) is quite difficult to implement.

If you did the rating based on the number of replies, it wouldn't nessesarily indicate how thought provoking a thread was, it could show how contentious it is. ie. you could get your count up by simply posying controversial topics.
