Title: worth a punt ?

not sure,could be crank sensor ? any ideas/opinions ?

sounds like mine, but mine starts after about 3 minutes of trying  ;D

and yes, I need a new crank sensor...

I would say crank sensor, its a pity you didn't see it earlier, you could have nipped over with a paperclip ;)

It is a pity,I have a spare crank sensor so could have found out one way or the other.
The question I am trying to answer is,is it worth a couple of hundred as it  is ?
If I got it running and tidied it up,would I make anything by selling it on? not sure tbh,I suppose running it might be a 500 quid car ? :-/
Might leave it and see if he relists it.I could go have a look and take my time finding out a bit more.

i bought the mv6 like that for £200!

if it was the cranksensor though it would eventually start!

my V6 vauxhalls have always had to have the sensor replaced but they still started on cold and cut out when warm!

Not necessarily, eventually it will go 100%. often far from home....France even  :(

He says that it was running fine,he got in next morning and it wouldnt start.I think the crank sensor normally plays up a bit first? not sure tbh.anyway I have made contact and given him my number,asked him to give me a ring if it doesnt sell.
