I think he feels he will get more money for it by breaking, rather than selling as a whole..... :)

It does look a bit odd I agree, but I sympathise with him concerning the leather, as I don't like leather seats either. I think a good balance is the half leather like in my wife's Astra.

Does seam a shame to break it though for no better reason than money.
