i was getting rid of some of my old scrap out of the back garden today and took it to the local breakers to dump it and as i drove in,there was some excitement as i noticed an ex plod estate sitting on top of a pile of cars,w reg,but most of the good bits had gone, engine and manual box still in the car, xenon headlights, back box knacked tho.
-
Does it still have the diff??
-
yep its still there
-

Aye, Overton has never been the cheapest!! ;D
-
you can say that again ;D
-
doh, never thought to go thru there. you should scope out their prices and see if its worthwhile gettin anything off. :y
-
not much left of it,all the suspension is gone, and i think a local farmer giles owned it cos it stinks of manure, lol :o
-
oh no, that smell never ever goes away... every nut and bolt will stink of cow patt ;D
-
it does,i opened the back door and smelt it straight away, and i only wanted to see if the clocks were still in it but even theyre gone
-
me thinks it was probably stripped by the guy before the breakers picked it up, I just had to pay £30 to get the 2.5td remains lifted, he normally charges £80, 6 months ago they were lifting rott boxes for nowt.. :'(
-
i got £90 today for all the scrap i had in the garden, inc ar25 boxes, bottom ends and general odds an sods that had built up off cars i had been working on
-
think ive been robbed, as i chucked a whole load of scrap metal and gearboxes in it aswell :'(
-
take it to one who pays you for it,i was just going to do the same, but a mate told me that the one in muir of ord would pay me for it all
-
the guy that picked it up is the only one left thats doing it, so hence the rip off. nnever mind the place is tidy again.

Does yer man scrap it on the island or ship it to the mainland? Would only be cash in it for him if the latter, I suppose...
-
am now left with one 2.5 engine in the garden a manual box and some other bits and pieces, not as much as i had tho.
-
he gathers it and sends it off on trailers, so yes money in it for him :(

I asked about getting that off it, said £40... They moved the car out, then crushed it instead :'(
