Title: Conway Calypso trailer tent for sale
Post by: hotel21 on 07 January 2007, 13:08:44
OK, I know its not an Omega, but due to a change in family circumstances, our Conway Calypso DL trailer tent is now relutantly for sale.  Its similar to this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130033004590 - but not this actual one.  Mine is undamaged, is cleaner and has been recently reproofed.   Always stored in a dry warm garage.

I intend to place it on E-bay in the next week or two but thought I would give it a chance here first.  I realise that the 'for sale' section is for cars and/or car parts, so if this is loosely deemed a car part, then no complaints whatsoever if the admins move it!!

Tent sleeps 2 adults with a small 'pup' tent that goes underneath the main bed section for a child or two, depending on their ages.  We used it to store bags etc.   Tent has complete cooker and sink unit as per the listing, and is also wired for 240 and 12 volts.  Fridge box in the front, spare wheel unused, complete with all pots and pans, gas bottle, utensils, plates, mugs, lights etc so it really is ready to camp.  Only needs your own bedding.  A 3 way fridge (240/12 volt and gas) fridge may be included if a fair price is reached.

Looking for £325 for a quick sale, may deliver for an agreed rate.   Willing to accept new VX discs/pads front and rear, and drop links, for my 1998 MV6 manual as part exchange.  Will supply mobile number by PM if you need further info.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Broocie,
do you know how heavy it is? I'll mention it to a few of the Imp guys as I know some of them like trailer tents to tow behind the Imp  8-)

Cheers Jim

I just checked the trailer plate and it shows a max gross of 600 kgs but does not give its unladen weight.

If you check this web link
http://conwayowners.501megs.com/brochures/1992.pdf
then you will get some other piccies and see the specification sheet.

My old clunky laptop that I have had to press into service does not let me load the page to view, unfortunately!

Jim - I checked out the specification link after getting my own PC back up and running.

The ex-works weight is 275 kg.
Carrying capacity is 150 kg
Gross weight therefore is 425 kg.

Overall length from towhitch to rear lights is 369 cms, width 125 cms and height 105 cms.

Tows easily behing Astra/Pugeot 206 but cannot comment on how it would tow behind an Imp.

It towed like it was invisible behind my Cavalier TD when I had it.

Looking for a quickish sale 'cos I need the garage space.......    :y

OK - Bump back to the top for one last time.

Change of circumstances yet again.

This needs gone in the next few days.   Will accept a reasonable offer simply to get shot of it.  Someone with garage storage could easily buy it and keep it until Easterish time then sell on and make a few quid.  I simply cannot afford the space.
