Title: Cleaning the Plenum right back!!!
Post by: VX1 on 26 January 2009, 21:10:38
What is the best way to get all the old paint off the plenum? Paint stripper, shot blasting or just keep on sanding off the old paint? Basically what I want to do is strip the old paint off give a good clean and repaint the plenum, just like some oofers have done, just to make the engine stand out a bit more.

Any suggetions welcome.

I dont think they are painted, at least not the short versions, not seen the long versions up close to tell if they are painted tho.

To save all that hassle, try a quick cycle through the dishwasher. Just don't let the missus find out

Done that already and used engine degreaser all over it TB!  ;D ;D ;D. But just need to get the flakey paint off of it then respray it. I did respray it before but it was a crap job so need to do it properly. I have completely stripped it as well.

Indeed and bloody good stuff it is too, stings a bit when you get it on your skin though so be careful with it.
