Evenin' everyone,
Someone I know Had a new rad fitted to his Astra by the VX dealer, it sprung a leak in less than twelve months he took the car back to the dealer who said we can't guarantee the parts. does anyone know if and how long the manufacturers guarantee would be and would it be covered in this situation?
TIA :y

All new parts wether from main dealer or factor have a manafactures warranty so yes if its a default in workmanship then it's covered same as if it was fitted badly as well. If he has a genuine claim then he is well within his rights to get it replaced with a new one frre of charge.

What happens if something has hit the radiator and damaged it though, or is it definately leaking from a quality point of view.
Same with tyres, if a brand new tyre got a nail it it in the 1st mile then its just bad luck, same if a stone damages a radiator.

If they won't honour a warranty claim try ringing Vx at Luton, they may well help the dealer change his mind about it. ;D

Vx parts have a 1 year warranty.......even if fitted by yourself (assuming fitted correctly)
