Title: failed my MOT today

On the characters on the front number plate not being correctly spaced (they are original as far as I'm aware)
And my mobile phone holder obstructing my view

Plate replaced, holder removed - passed

thank you Miggy as the 2 faults had nothing to do with you  :)

I go to a local place who uses discretion.

eg borderline - I get advisory some would get failure, notably wishbone bushes - deteriorating

A work mate of mine who is an ex mot mechanic thinks the garage have passed too many recently and are failing rather than advising so they don't get inspected?

The holder was on the offside side of the windscreen - bottom right hand corner but quote "....encroaching into the swept area by more than 40mm outside zone 'A' " - if that makes it any clearer for you techies  :D
