Change your folder settings as that info maybe invisible.  :y

This is a known issue to the AGV guys, and their recommendation is to download the installer, and run it.

It'll give you options such as install or repair, and you're looking for the repair option.

I uninstalled it and installed this:

http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php

It came out tops in PC Pro's AV roundup, and so far it seems quite good, without being resource hungry.

I'm seriously considering buying the retail version.
It tries to plug a free upgrade with recommendation sites but i haven't bothered going down this route.

If your using Vista it lives in
C:\ProgramData\avg8\update\download
which is a hidden folder, just copy that path and paste it into the start search box and press enter and you should see the files you need to delete.

I'm running AVG 7.5 and I've had no problems at all. The only difference I've noticed lately is that every time I download an update it asks for a reboot (and it drives windows defender mental)

i've always been wary of having several anti virii? and firewalls running at the same time, surely they would conflict with each other at some point?
