Title: Oh dear - convenience makes embarrassing behaviour
Post by: jjleonard on 28 January 2009, 11:27:17
My G/F and I went to see a married couple who are friends of ours at the weekend.

The wife was in - the husband wasn't.
"What's happened?" said I, willing to leap to the assistance of a family that's been through a lot recently.

"Paul has had to walk out to my car with the spare key", she said, "because I couldn't get into it. - the remote wouldn't work".

"Oh", says I, "Didn't the key work in the lock then?"

"Lock?" she says, looking at me blankly.

Turns out she's never used the doorlock, only the remote, on her Peugeot, so when the battery went flat in the remote, she assumed she couldn't get in.

Cue the husband returning home five minutes later in the car, having tried the key in the lock, getting into the car, and driving it home.
