Proberly more than the cost of the scooter :( and £500 will not get you a lot a the kids thrash the grannie out of them ,wheelies ,stoppies and stuff like that ,sorry to say .My brother works in a bike shop and when a 16 year old brings one in for p/x they tell them we dont take p/x on scooters ,because in the end it costs more than there worth  :(

Just need to put my thinking cap on, went through all this last summer ;D be a bloomin car this year though. ::) ::) ::)

If I remember correctly the insurance, fully comp, was around £450, some quotes were a lot more. A company gave me a quote, great, went through the motions and when they clarify what you have bought they mentioned TPF&T insurance, I challenged them on this because no way had I asked for this. Think this was a bit of a con, cos he said why bother with fully comp. Brand new scooter says I, albeit an import, been excellent value for money :y :y :y

Laddo already had a helmet / Gloves as he had a Pit Bike, would have cost about £150. At a guess.

He does not have a leather jacket, tends to wear these big coats that the youngsters are into.

Hope this helps. :y In my case he is my step son and I was under threat of death from swmbo if anything happened.

Try the confused.com.  Go Compare.com etc sites.
I would suggest your son having his own insurance so he gets some no claims next year :y

The one with the little wheel? Tis an electric bike, :P :P :P used to use in at the caravan site to search for my daughter when she was younger, can't do the walking that I once could. :(

Sold it on ebay last year and got only £10.00 less thaat I paid for it 3 years earlier.  :y

And despite being insured for it it, I have never been on the scooter, was just saying that to swmbo at the weekend, will wait for the warm weather now though ::)
