Title: After all these years Thia Green Curry
Post by: Christian on 29 January 2009, 21:30:25
Well after around 12 months ive always wanted to try Thia Green Curry.

Ive finally plucked up the Courage to buy (first before i make my own) A Sheerwoods Mixture and Jasmin Rice.

Ive always made my own Curry's from scratch as i love Cooking but if ide of made my own Green i still would not know how it tasted poperly!

I can honestly say that it was delicious!

Does anybody Cook on here and make there own flavours?

Im a sod for over Herbing stuff also too much Garlic! Mrs moans but i do it to my taste lol.

I want to like it - have tried a DIY one a couple of times, but not sure i've got the nerve yet to adapt it to my own tastes (like i do with everything else..) - like add bucket loads of garlic and mushrooms..

Tend to cheat a lot of the time - 2 x Chicken Tonight Sizzle'n'Stir (one Korma, one Tikka Massala), plus mushrooms and garlic - 3 days meals for us two..

The sign of a really good curry is when your arsehole drinks all the water from down the bog.

The wife and I are a real mix of Japanese American (her) and Brit with side of Indian (me) so meals in our house are always exciting.  The wife makes many an oriental dish and her green and red curries are fantastic.  I have a host of spices that I use to make allsorts of Indian dishes.  I havent mastered the art of homemade naan bread yet but I am still trying  :y

There is one ingredient that we never cook without, which probably has something to do with living in France for so long.....................

.........................garlic! yum!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Tip:

Buy yourself an aluminium pot (like a stock pot size) and cook your currys in that. Once cooked, take it off the heat and put the lid on the pot. Then place it somewhere cool, like in your garage or shed. Leave it for at least 3 days but better if its a week or more. The oil comes to the top and creates a seal whilst the goodies below marinate flavours. When ready, skim oil from top and return to the stove. You MUST ensure that the contents cook properly and you may need to add a little fresh oil during the cooking. Then serve..... beuatiful!  :y
