problem for the exhaust manifold to crack on the 2.2 omega

It can crack.....but usually due to its length, the studs snap first on no1 cylinder. Are you sure it is cracked and not studs snapped??

didnt think to look at the studs, :-[ i assumed the manifold had a crack because the blowing stops when the engine warms up (and the system was checked when i had new tyres last week )

Seems to be a stock affliction to all 4-pot Petrol Omegas... mine's got a snapped stud on No.1 port (nearest the 'stat) and a crack in the middle of 2/3 and also gets quieter when its fully up to temp..

New manifolds are on egay for about £70 last time i looked - i just put up with it!
