Mrs. MJ chose the colour, she likes black because it is 'cool', I would have preferred silver like my previous Omega...

What books do you make her read... :-?

Been tring to get mine to understand the principle of a steam engine in order to at least acknowledge the magnificance of the Mallard at the York Train Museum.... It's a no go though.. :o

Oh well I understand it, and I dragged her around anyway.. I even stood on the footplate of the Mallard, and had my picture Taken

I tend to leave engine size out of any discusion I have with mine, as it only results in ... "I thought it was a 1.6"...
As for the exhuast.. they might as well be 2 drain pipes for all she cares.....

I showed her the Engine mods at the Weekend, to which her reply came...."how much did that lot cost".... >:(

It's great to find some sanity and appreciation of things with Engines on here....

Matt

PS: Type there sorry, I meant insanity... ;D :y

i am still on a misson to get my mum a megga, she really liked my project a.. it was the first Auto she ever drove. And after i finally got her in, she liked it!

She's small at 5ft1 but the driving position was very good for her, good distance from the wheel, in my facelift the dash is differnt and the position was much worse for her.

She liked the power of project A's V6 power  ;)

Agreed, and she like dual climate so she can be warm and I can be normal...

Obviously, the colour of the car, and the spec of the stereo is important to any chick...

Last Friday I picked up the wife and three of her pi**ed up whittering mates from thier Christmas do (make a note not to do it next year) and the girls in the back where going on "ohhh what a lovely car" well that was it the wife was "if you press that button there it will heat the rear seats and this button here is the rear blind" which made me laugh because if I mention anything car to her she looks at me as if to say "do I look bothered" ;D

Same here.SWMB(usually)O had no input whatsoever when I bought my Omega. She was really impressed when I turned up at her work on my TDM 850  ::)
Being honest she didn't really have much input when we bought her Astra G either. Her only requirement was 2 pedals.

Mine actually had the cheek to say she didn't feel safe in it anymore at the weekend as it doesn't drive the same as hers.

She has a 1.4 Meriva driven at 65mph on the motorway & I was gently driving a bend at 75mph.

Unsafe pah! If I went that fast in her car it'd be on its roof!
Can't leave em - can't kill em - got to love em  :-*

My missus loves the Meega, but she says that sometimes there is a foul smell in the car. I told her it was the aircon.

(Compressor gave up the ghost months ago....... ;D ;D ;D)

Never had a missus in my 1.5 years of driving, so I can have my car as I like  ;D

Though, one of my friends, a picky lassie likes my car because it smells nice and is really clean! haha

funny thing is I binned my air freshener and a few weeks, she was saying, "I love that smell, it always reminds me of your car"     So that's Ultraviolet she likes and not Glade's "ocean breeze"!! haha :)

Mine likes the fact the MV6 "goes very well and looks nice"

However she hates the Carlsson  ;D. It looks ugly and she thinks it is too "primitive"...?

Okay here goes, ::)

I have had an Omega Estate for about 5 years, to be fair, she often said before I got one, that she liked the look of the Omega's This year when I was looking for a replacement, a bit younger, I really wanted an Elite, had to be DTI.

I spent 5 months looking for a DTI Elite Estate, the first one we saw, (I took her along for company) ;), I missed buying it by 5 mins. She thought it was a rrrrreally nice car. I mean, she thought it was a REALLY NICE CAR.

However we later looked at CDX's estates and some really nice CD's. But (By the way at this point I must point out, I only asked her opinion, Not that it would have made a differance) ;) She would say about the CDX's, they just look like any other car. :o This is before she has seen it close up.

Now I'm not being funny but from the outside, from a distance (to most women), ;) other than the wheels, WHAT is the dfferance between an Elite Estate & a CDX Estate? No matter how many times I asked, she could not tell me, what she liked soooo much about the Elite Estate as oppossed to a CDX or CD.

Conclusion I eventually found out was, the tail gate spoiler. Honestly, The tail gate spoiler.  :'( So guys if you really want to impress you misses. Spend a couple of hundred extra and get -
A BIG TAIL EXTENSION, - IT MATTERS :y

Ok here is what made my missus decide on an omega:

I saw it on my way back home one night took a photo with my mobile and i got the response:

"I WANT one of them!"

I did phone the guy that owns it and got told to politely "bugger off its cost me too much to sell it".
Eventually decided on a black one but could not find a black elite with low enough milage. Then as if by magic we stumbled on a RIOJA one on ebay. My first thought was if it gets scratched it will be a bugger to colour match, but hey she likes it so we bought it. We did disagree on the 3.0V6 part but an elite had to be done now she loves the V6 roar!!!  ;D Oh and the heated seats too lol

For SWMBO it was the heated velour seats, looked at a few elites but as it was November
the leather felt cold but the velour was warm and "snuggly". Big engines don't seem to bother her, it could have been a 1600 but so long as it felt right it would have been okay!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

With mine, its the eternal catch 22.....

"I only drive it, you choose, its YOUR car..."

But get it wrong, and its the new full time job to remind you of the fact...  without the reason why...

Ye just canny win, mun!!

Of course you can! If it's to YOUR car buy what YOU want. I just buy what I want, she moans for a few days, she then comes round - problem sorted!!  :y You should've seen her face when I 'surprised' her with my 'new' motor bike .... then again!  ;)

Hmmmm....   the official verdict by SWMBO on my 3.0 Elite is a mere "it's alright , i suppose.......  "

but then she spent about 16-7 years in Senators.....  I had my first one in 1984 , and only parted with the last one in 2001.....

towards the end of that period we got the Sintra.....   which scored highly....  by virtue of having 7 "proper" seats... and being a shed load nicer, more comfortable and reliable, and faster, than the Pug 505Gti estate 7 seater we had previously...  (we have 5 kids.... so we have to keep at least 1      7 seater on hand for family outings....    )

BUT she wouldn't initially happily drive it....  as it was too big.......   she liked travelling in it... and even remarked about how crap the Zafira was in comparison....   particularly noticing it's lack of poise in cornering and under braking....

but that's the 7 seater....   it's not a replacement for the Sennies ... although, despite being driven on the wrong set of wheels...(what moron decided FWD and a V6 was a good idea without traction control?)  it's as close to having a senator MPV as we could get......    solid and stable and pretty quick with that 24V 3.0 V6 in it....

what feature on  my omega elite got the most positive reactions from both Wife and Daughters??

The talking factory fitted Sat Nav.

(Our later sennies had pretty much all the bells and whistles the meega has apart from that... so not really much wow factor for the rest of it...... )

The teenage daughters especially went a bit loopy over it.....  "daddy daddy, it talks to you.... it TALKS to you.....   "  in the same kind of excited tone of voice as that used for when you just bought them a pony!  and were pointedly told no... they were not learning to drive in MY car.....

;)
