As above. I just don't want it to happen again after rebuilding my engine :-/

my rod usually bends after too much alcohol ::) ::) ;)

I like the bend in me "rod " when I got a 20lb carp on the end of me line ::) ::) ::) ;D

going through deep water and sucking it up the air intake!
Then as the piston rises, it cant compress the water (Hydrolocks), so something has to give... and the rod bends!

Could it be caused by igniting fuel prematurely while the piston is still rising?

Pre-ignition normaly melts pistons....the rods are normaly ok

I was thinking on a more physical interaction type thing where the timing belt slipped a tooth or three and valves and pistons were shoving tongues down each others throats..... :D
