I have a rotary polisher that came from woolies, v good quality and the pads are excellent, had a fair bit of use and showing no signs of wear.

Have a look on Detail World iirc they have a section for that kind of thing http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/index.php

Just make sure it's a Random Orbital and you should be OK... I've got one from Halfrauds and it's good... Although you do get white-finger using it ::) ::)

got an RAC endorsed one from Argos, have had no probs with it at all, easy to use, (lightweight) pads wear well and does a good job

thanks for the advice chaps. i have one of these:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_189810_langId_-1_categoryId_165640#dtab
but figured that was for polish and buff. i was looking for a wet mop type thing you use with cutting compound. the kind that looks like a sander and you dip the mop in some water and then go to work on the car. is this a similar item? bit confused now...!! :-?

ive just been given a proper polishing machine complete with a load of velcro pads which my friend "liberated" when he was in the trade a while ago, complete with pots of various compounds & hand glaze, just need the weather now to use it all ;)
